Buddies Online Toastmasters Club

Speech-A-Thon

Saturday November 25, 2023 12:50 PM

This is the Buddies way of providing newcomers with more speaking opportunities at the end of each month.  There are six prepared speech slots to take instead of three. To make time for this, the speeches will only be only evaluated in writing after the meeting. Each evaluator is expected to watch the speech to be evaluated and complete the corresponding evaluation form after the meeting.
Thanks for being our Buddy!

We meet every Saturday 1PM UTC in Zoom. Guests: to join our meeting, please email buddiestmi@gmail.com for meeting room information.

Reminder: In a Speech-A-Thon, evaluators only provide written evaluations. Because there are no verbal evaluations, there is no best evaluator poll during Speech-A-Thons.

Meeting Theme

Meet people with a smile.

Word of the Day:

Astute means “having or showing an ability to notice and understand things clearly”—in other words, “being mentally sharp or clever.”

// The coach has proven to be an astute judge of talent during his career.

“In her new memoir, ‘Both/And,’ … [Huma Abedin] may be one of the most politically astute and well-traveled women in the world, but she portrays herself as far from worldly, at least in affairs of the heart.” — Susan Dominus¸ The New York Times, 21 Nov. 2021
